Often times a lot of work is never shown due to NDAs and never sees the light of day. I'm happy this shot finally is out. This was a shot for a film called "The Secret Lives of Dorks". I worked on this film over three years ago and I'm happy that this clip is in the trailer. They wanted to enhance the pea soup they used on set and were looking to really push the effect over the top. It was a shoestring budget, so we didn't spend the time making the vomit blend and look photo real, instead we went for a nice blobby fun feel. 3d artist Michael Ranger and I built the tracking model, did the particle work, rendered it, and we passed it off to a compositor for final adjustments and sub-pixel tracking. Final work took about 3 days if I recall correctly. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out and am glad to see it made it into the film 3 years later.
