So, I've been WANTING a laptop like there's no tomorrow. That's probably not a good thing cause it means that I'm going to spend ~$2000 on it rather than on something more practical. At least it's not on a $2000 lego set, and it's a tax write-off, so good for me. I've never actually owned a laptop, but I have finally found a need for one at work. I'm looking at a 15" Dell XPS, 1080p screen, 8GB ram, nVidia graphics, USB 3.0, blue-ray player, kick butt speakers, etc. I've done plenty of shopping around and this laptop is really the most bang for the buck you can get, I just have to wait until January for all the features to be available again. What I'm also excited about is the dual laptop case / camera bag. It holds a DSLR and two lenses plus your laptop, cables, sketchbook, etc. I WANT THIS!!! (Perhaps too much... not good for the soul) It's $279 bux (ouch) but it looks pretty tight. I'm going to keep looking online to see if I can get it for cheaper, but my wife agrees, it's stylish.
I did it! My new 15" Dell XPS will be shipped sometime this month. I'm pretty excited, and can't wait to see what this bad boy can do. What is pretty cool is that this laptop will be able to supplement my PC at home, and I will probably be able to keep it for another year and a half (maybe two), so in the end, it will be saving me from buying a $4000+ workstation in the next few months.
